I come from a place where being unemployed and having career gaps are judged like character flaws.

A simple question like “So, what are you doing now?” feels heavier than rejection.

When I reached my career-building phase, I faced that question almost every single day.

It hits even harder when everyone around you seems to be moving forward in their careers while you’re still trying to figure out where to begin.

But even with all that pressure, I still chose to show up even on the hardest days.

I learned everything from scratch.

Worked late nights. Made mistakes. Upgraded myself every single week, even when nobody saw the effort.

Today, I earn more than some of the people who once doubted me.

I get to choose my work, my time, and the projects I actually care about.

But I’ll be honest with you…

That beginning phase is lonely. Really lonely.

When your family doesn’t understand what you’re trying to do…

When people around you assume you’re wasting your time…

…it’s easy to start questioning yourself.

To wonder if maybe you are the problem.

But you’re not the problem.

You’re just early in your journey.

• I didn’t know how to price.

• I didn’t know how to find clients.

• I didn’t have a portfolio.

• I didn’t have confidence.

All I had was curiosity + stubbornness.

Over time, I learned something that changed everything for me:

Freelancing isn’t about knowing everything. It’s about learning out loud.

• The more I shared what I was learning, the more clients trusted me.

• The more I showed how I think, the more people felt safe handing me work.

• The more I put myself out there, the more opportunities started showing up.

You don’t need to wait for your skills to be “perfect.”

You just need your first tiny step.

Because that first tiny step builds the second.

The second builds momentum.

And momentum builds your entire career.
